Casanovas In Heat - Twisted Steel Sex Appeal LP (KW-044)

Perhaps overtaking the Weed Hounds LP as the most cursed Katorga Works release, we can finally present to you the magnum opus of Massachusetts' power pop miscreants Casanovas In Heat.

While their 2014 'Belvidere' 7" was a huge step forward for the band from previous material, the band had even more to prove when they entered the studio with the great Ben Greenberg in February 2015, tour-tight and ready to conquer the world with a debut LP emphasizing their blend of melodic punk rock, new wave guitar stylings, and a locals-only fondness for classic Boston power pop a la the Neighborhoods, etc.

Unfortunately, things didn't quite turn out that way with a myriad of delays due to both the band's propensity for living that harsh rock 'n' roll lifestyle and the ineptness of a certain record label (it's me), but in the end we still have Twisted Steel Sex Appeal, a truly amazing document of a band at their best. Farewell, Casanovas, as you surf on into the twilight that is the Dorchester Bay.
